Wer sagt eigentlich, dass Metal nur über riesige Verstärker funktioniert? Wir sind Elcano, eine nautische Metalband auf den Spuren der ersten Weltumsegelung – und für einen Tag tauschen wir die hohe See gegen die Aarauer Altstadt. Statt donnernder Verstärker gibt's Holz, Saiten und jede Menge Seemannsgarn. Keine Sorge: Der Wind bleibt rau, die Geschichten episch und der Rum... na ja, den müsst ihr euch selbst denken. Erlebt Metal einmal anders: akustisch, mitten in der Altstadt und mit einer guten Portion Selbstironie. Denn mal ehrlich – wie viele Metalbands kennt ihr, die freiwillig ohne Strom auftreten? Also kommt an Bord, singt mit der Crew, schunkelt wie ein betrunkener Matrose und helft uns, Aarau für einen Nachmittag in einen kleinen Heimathafen zu verwandeln.

Als Headliner stehen ZAPHIRA aus Zürich auf der Bühne. Die Schweizer Band verbindet kraftvollen Symphonic Metal mit orchestralen Elementen, mystischer Atmosphäre und ausdrucksstarkem weiblichem Gesang. Nach ihrer Rückkehr 2023 ist ZAPHIRA wieder voll aktiv und hat mit Songs wie „Wasteland“, „Stigma“ und „Armageddon“ neues Material am Start. Epische Melodien, schwere Gitarren und symphonische Eleganz – gemacht für die Bühne! Als Support übernehmen INOXIUS aus Bern. Die junge Schweizer Hard-Rock-Band wurde 2023 gegründet und will beweisen, dass Hard Rock noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehört. Melodische und zugleich druckvolle Gitarrenriffs, treibende Beats, starke Basslines und emotionale Vocals sorgen für einen modernen Sound mit klassischen Hard-Rock-Wurzeln. Und wer eröffnet den Abend? Natürlich mit einem Heimspiel! 🤘 ELCANO – die regionale Ladung Nautical Metal aus Olten! Die etwas andere Metal-Band nimmt euch mit auf die erste Weltumsegelung: Stürme, Hunger, Seefahrer, Entdecker und jede Menge Seemannsgarn werden mit Heavy Metal, Bühnenunterhaltung und einer gehörigen Portion Humor in die Heavysound Bar verfrachtet. ELCANO sind an diesem Abend nicht nur der Opening Act – sie haben einen klaren Auftrag: Die Bude aufwärmen, euch durstig machen und dafür sorgen, dass vom ersten Song an Stimmung herrscht! Wer die Jungs aus der Region schon einmal live erlebt hat, weiss: Hier wird nicht einfach nur Metal gespielt. As a grand finale, The Green Goblins bring Celtic folk 'n' roll to the stage, captivating the audience. What on earth is "nautical metal"? Elcano are finally back in Olten, unloading their cargo of original nautical compositions for the first time at the Galiciabar. With the meticulously researched songs from their soon-to-be-released album, they trace the first circumnavigation of the world: Magellan and Pope Alexander VI, storms and shallows, hunger and cloves, the Victoria and Tierra del Fuego – metal, yes, but not for landlubbers who get seasick at the sight of sails, rudders, and treasure chests on the stage deck. Praise be to all the saints! While the SPH contest unfortunately got caught in the maelstrom of fate and vanished from the surface of the sea, Elcano also seemed to have briefly disappeared, but in fact, we are on a safe course. On the evening of October 30th, 2021, we will sail back into our home port, bringing you precious spices from the Philippines, exquisite fabrics from India, songs from fantastical realms, and, most importantly, a powerful new ally! – Don't miss this special spectacle!
